FAQ's
1. How many clinical sites do you have?
  Students affiliate to all the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) hospitals of which there are ten and six non-DMC hospitals. The program also has three affiliations in Toledo, Ohio for students in Toledo.
   
2. What is the schools passing rate on the Certification Exam?
  The program has 100% success rate on the Certification Examination.
   
3. Can I spend a day observing a CRNA?
  In order to understand the scope and dynamics of the practice of nurse anesthesia, it is recommended that you spend time observing CRNAs in different locations.
   
4. Do I need a statement from the CRNA when I shadow to verify I spent the day with them?
  A statement from the CRNA of the date, month and year that you spent observing can be emailed to the program.
   
5. Who should I get my references from?
  The references most valued by the review committee are from your immediate supervisors and coworkers. Additional references are acceptable.
   
6. Do you have a distance education component?
  We have established clinical commitment with Covenant in Saginaw as well as several rural hospitals on the eastside of the state. We will interview applicants in Fall 2005 for Class of 2006.
   
7. Are all of the clinical sites in the Detroit Area?
  There are sixteen sites in the Detroit Metropolitan area and three in Toledo. Each site has as a coordinator who would be happy to answer questions about the program. Their email and telephone numbers are on the clinical site listed on the Website.
   
8. Do I have to have the graduate prerequisite classes finished before I apply?
  Your typed applications can be submitted without completion of prerequisites. Prerequisite grades are to be submitted to the College of Pharmacy and Health Science office of Student Affairs prior to interview.
   
9. Do I have to take the GRE before I apply?
  Your application can be sent while you prepare to take the GRE. The scores are to be sent to the college prior to the interview. It is essential that at least one of the prerequisites and your GRE scores be on file before interview begins in the Fall.
   
10. What are the minimum acceptable GRE scores?
  The minimum acceptable GRE score is 800 combined qualitative and quantitative, and 3.5 analytical.
   
11. What types of critical care units are acceptable?
  Applicants must be full time in surgical, CCU, or MICU.
